Chrissy's Authentic Beef & Italian Sausage Meatballs

Being Italian I am a huge Meatball fan! I think they are one of my favorite foods! :) These Meatballs can be cooked in the oven or a skillet. I have included directions for both.

Servings 4-5

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 roll of Italian sausage (not links) can use hot sausage if prefer some heat
2 egg
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons minced or dried parsley
1/2 small onion (diced)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 1/4 cups Italian bread crumbs

Directions

Mix everything together in a large bowl until well incorporated. I use a cookie dough scoop, its smaller than an ice cream scoop. If you do not have one then just try to make meatballs all equal sizes using a tablespoon. Roll them tightly rolling them between cupped palms. You can either cook them in the oven or on the stove top. I have included both directions.

Baking Directions

Preheat Oven to 375 degrees
Place on a cookie sheet with a silicone mat or in a casserole baking dish. Bake uncovered meatballs for 35 minutes. Remove from pan with tongs and place in choice of sauce or gravy.

Skillet Directions

On medium heat place meatballs in skillet. I prefer a large seasoned iron skillet. Place meatballs in pan leaving a little room to move the meatballs around and roll them. As the meatballs are beautifully browned all the way around remove them one by one dropping them in your sauce or gravy. Sauce or gravy should be simmering on low-medium heat to continue cooking the meatballs all the way through. As you take meatballs out of the skillet, add new raw meatballs to the skillet and continue process until all of your meatballs are browned and cooked.

Let cook in simmering sauce or gravy for 20 min. stirring occasionally to keep from bottom burning.

Add your Meatballs in their sauce or gravy over your favorite pasta, or in your favorite sandwich roll.

If I put them on rolls I cut the meatballs in half so it is easier to eat.
