Chrissy's Favorite Steak & A-1 Sauteed Mushroom Sandwich

Steak And Sauteed Mushrooms In A-1 Sauce



These sandwiches are "The Bomb" They are so good. Perfect for Football Season!!
Cook a steak perfectly with the steak chart included!


This recipe makes two - three sandwich's.

Ingredients

4 cups raw sliced mushrooms (1 package)
1 teaspoon butter or margerine
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 cup water
1/4 cup A-1 sauce (steak sauce) 
2 slices of provolone cheese (your favorite cheese)
French fried Onions (I purchase these in the store Picture below) 

1 medium sized steak (I use a sirloin) 

2 French Rolls

Directions

In one skillet place your steak in a heated pan at med heat. Cook to your preferred doneness. season according to your desired taste. I use steak seasoning since it has multiple spices in one container. It makes it fool proof.  I have included a steak chart below for additional reference on cooking steak.



In a skillet melt butter on medium heat once melted add mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms for 8 minutes. Then add onion, garlic, black pepper. in measuring cup mix your water, and A-1 sauce and mix it with a fork and add it to your mushrooms. Continue to cook stirring frequently until they are sauteed and cooked all the way roughly 10-15 minutes or until done. 

Slice up your steak into thin slices, then in half because you don't want the pieces too big since you want bite sized pieces.

Prepare your french roll with your favorite condiments, some of my friends like mayo, mustard other like nothing since it already has A-1 sauce.

Next place your steak chunks on the roll, add mushrooms and cheese crispy fried onions. You can also add slices of tomato, hot peppers, ortega chill's, or anything you like.
