Chrissy's Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Pork Tenderloin Recipe


Our family always eats this on New Years it is a tradition. So I figure it is perfect to post it and bring in the New Year! Happy New Year Everyone! May 2017 be a great year! 

Ingredients: 

4 jars of sauerkraut rinsed thoroughly with cold water and strained
1 stick of butter
1 thinly sliced white onion
1 heaping tablespoon of minced garlic
1 3-4 lbs pork tenderloin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed

Directions:

Place your pork tenderloin or pork roast in your slow cooker, add the caraway seeds. 

Next in a large skillet (I prefer cast iron) melt your butter and add your onions, black pepper, and garlic. Sweat them down for a couple minutes, then add your rinsed sauerkraut and cook on medium heat fr about 15-20 minutes. 

Then pour the contents of your skillet over your roast in your slow cooker. 
Cover and cook 6-8 hours.
