Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas



Today I wanted something different and not something I cook often and am bored with so I made my Pork Carnita's in my slow cooker! Sooo good I had to share. 


I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do. 

Ingredients


4 lbs. pork shoulder roast
2 onions chopped
1 lime juice
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/4 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons dried Mexican oregano
1 teaspoon adobo *spicy option*

Directions


Put your pork roast into your slow cooker, add rest of ingredients. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-6 hours. 

When ready remove meat from slow cooker use tongs to shred. Place on a cookie sheet and broil in oven for 4 minutes. 

Put on corn tortillas with your choice of toppings and enjoy! 

I like chopped onions, or pico de gallo, and a chipolte sour cream or Queso Fresco cheese
