The OMG Platter! Savory Meatloaf, Fully Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, And Candied Carrots In Butter, Brown Sugar, & Cinnamon!

A whole meal all on one beautifully displayed platter that will wow anyone who tries it! Choose to make only one of the recipes shared here or make the whole OMG Platter! 

Savory Meatloaf, Fully Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, And Candied Carrots In Butter, Brown Sugar, & Cinnamon!

First start by making your meatloaf. 



2 lbs ground beef
1 lbs Italian Sausage roll/log ( not links)
1 heaping teaspoon of minced garlic
1 teaspoon creamy house radish
1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal or rolled oats
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon ground powdered mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon beef base 
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon Tarragon
1/4 teaspoon Ground Sage
1/4 teaspoon ground Cumin
2 tablespoons dried parsley (or fresh)
1/2 teaspoon Basil
1/4 cup minced onion or dried onion flakes

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees 
Bake 1 1/2 hours. 

In a large bowl put your meats in first and make a well or hole in the center like a volcano. Add all other ingredients and with your hands incorporate and mix all ingredients very well together.  Spay with non stick cooking spray the inside of your bunt pan. Pack your meat mixture down tightly into the bunt pan pressing firmly against the edges to get the meat deep into all of the edges and designs. once I get mine into the pan I usually use my hands and press down to even it all out. 

Bake for One and a half hours at 350 Degrees F

Mashed Potatoes


You can choose to make instant mashed potatoes or real mashed potatoes. 

10 rustic potatoes (3 cups instant mashed potatoes)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped cooked bacon (or real bacon pieces)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped scallions or chives

Peel and boil potatoes in stock pot of water until tender roughly 20 minutes. When done drain water and in large bowl use an electric miser or hand mixer and whip your potatoes until smooth. Add additional ingredients and mix until well incorporated. If using instant potatoes whisk smooth and add same additional ingredients.

While your potatoes are boiling start cooking your Candied Carrots. 

Candied Carrots


1/2 stick of unsalted butter (I prefer sweet cream butter)
1/2 Teaspoon ground Cinnamon 
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 cups baby carrots


Melt butter in low-medium skillet, add carrots and sautee your carrots for 3 minutes. Next add your Cinnamon and brown sugar. Turn heat down to low and cover with a lid. Stir occasionally, and continue to cook for another 20-30 minutes until carrots are tender.

In last 10 minutes of Meatloaf cooking start your Mushroom Gravy.

Mushroom Gravy


4 cups sliced fresh uncooked mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup chopped mushrooms


Sautee your mushrooms on medium heat until tender. Set aside. 

Final Directions 

Cooked meatloaf

Using hot pads or oven mitts remove meatloaf from oven and pour additional juices from bunt pan into your mushrooms. Set meatloaf aside and let rest 5 minutes.  Next add 2 tablespoons of flour, 1/2 teaspoon corn starch, and 1 teaspoon of wet, ground or crumbled beef base and 1 1/2 cups of water. Whisk continuously until smooth and thicker consistency. (You can also make brown gravy from a store bought package and follow the directions on the package.)

Remove meatloaf from pan by placing serving platter over the bunt pan keeping the platter firmly against the bunt pan gently flip the meatloaf over. 

Spoon and pack your mashed potatoes into the center.

Next using the back of a large spoon make a well in the center of the mashed potatoes. Ladle your gravy into the well and drizzle the gravy over the edges of your meatloaf. 

Lastly spoon your candied carrots around the outside. You can also choose to use baked apples, steamed vegetables, grilled zucchini or squash around the outside instead of candied carrots.

 Serve and enjoy!

This really is a tried and true meal!  I love this dinner it always is a huge hit in my house and my family always asks me to make this.
