Chrissy's Warm Autumn Apple Pie Bread

From my kitchen to yours, an amazing fall recipe. The smell alone will make you feel warm and cozy inside. I can not wait to get some of your reviews on this recipe. It should honestly be a blue ribbon award recipe at the county fair. ❤❤

Use your favorite apples I typically use one Fuji and one Granny Smith.

1/2 Cup light brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (optional)
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/2 Cup (1 stick) unsalted, softened butter to room temp. not melted
2 Large Eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup canned evaporated milk (Or Whole Milk)
2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cup peeled & finely chopped apples (2-3 apples)

Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray a large loaf pan or bread pan with nonstick cooking spray preferably one that has flour in it. In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, & pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.

Peel and core your apples. Chop them into thin small chunks, add your raisins, cover with lemon juice and mix together. (lemon juice will keep your apples from turning brown from the air while your working on other things.) So make sure to stir well. Set aside.

Next mix together white sugar and butter until smooth using an electric mixer. Once smooth Mix in eggs, vanilla extract, apple sauce until fully combined. Finally, stir in your flour, baking powder and milk. Mix until fully combined.

Start the loaf by pouring a small bit of batter into the bottom of your pan. Next add a thin layer of apples & raisins. Press in lightly using the back of a spoon or rubber scraper. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix. Another layer of batter, then  apple / raisins, cinnamon / sugar. Continue layering up to 1" from the top of the pan. Remember to end your layers with batter and a little sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top.

Bake for 50-60 minutes (until toothpick or butter knife come out clean)

Let set and cool for at least 30 minutes before removing from pan. Serve warm and enjoy!
