Chrissy's Best Walnut Pie

It does not have to be a holiday season or special occasion to enjoy a good homemade slice of pie heaven! This pie is so amazing there are no words to explain how comforting it is still warm with a scoop of ice cream or whip topping.

The link to my pie crust recipe is also included. Enjoy!

½ Cup Unsalted Butter
2 Tablespoons Molasses Syrup
½ Cup White Sugar
½ Cup Brown Sugar
3 Egg yolks
1/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup evaporated canned milk
1 ½ Cup chopped walnuts
1/4 Cup Raisins (optional)
1 Tablespoon walnut or vanilla extract

1 9” Pre Baked Pie Crust (Lightly Browned)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C)

Put flour and sugar in one bowl and whisk until mixed well.

In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer slowly mix the butter and syrup until light and fluffy.

On low slowly add egg yolks and extract let beat for 1 minute.

Slowly add flour sugar mixture and then your canned milk continue to beat 1 more minute.

Now with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon fold in your walnuts, and raisins or your choice of nut mixture as long as the measurements are 1 1/2 Cup nuts.

Cover precooked pie crust edges with aluminum foil and Bake 50 minutes.

Uncover crust edges and bake another 10 minutes.

Let rest a minimum of 30 minutes before cutting. Cut and enjoy!
