Chrissy's Own Personal Recipe! Out Of This World Dry Rub Seasoning For Everything!

This dry rub will surprise you when you taste it for the first time still warm and right off of the grill. Something about the ingredients together just pops in your mouth and makes you go "Mmmmmm" as your eyes widen and your mouth starts watering for the next bite!  

I spent 2 years mixing ingredients together to create my own signature dry rub for my beef and ribs. I love to BBQ and smoke meats and cheeses and this just seemed to elevate it all and send my BBQ over the top. 

I have neighbors popping over the fence when I am out in the back yard BBQing, and friends asking me, "When are you BBQing again, Can I come?" Even through out the winter months! My friends and family often say, "This is so good why do you not package it and sell it?" 

I guess that is because I just like good food and I can share my recipe right here. 

I do not have the time with my busy schedule to figure out how to package and sell my dry rub, although it is better than a lot of store bought ones I have tried. I guess that is why I created it in the first place. LOL! 

I use an old spice shaker and fill it every time I make this rub, so it is in my spice cabinet at all times. I wrote on the outside of the container... POW POW WOW. 

This seasoning mix is even amazing on garden salads, in Potato salad, or pasta salad, lamb shanks, pork steaks, salmon, grilled veggies, burgers, we literally put it on just about everything we put on the grill or smoke.

Now for the good stuff!


2 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
1/4 Cup Finely Ground Coffee or Espresso
1 Tablespoon Sea Salt or Pink Salt (Coarse)
1 Tablespoon of Black Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon White Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Dried Mustard Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Rosemary
1 Tablespoon of Dried Onion Flakes
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
1 Teaspoon Coriander
1 Pinch of Celery Seed
1 Teaspoon Ancho Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
1 Teaspoon Dried Parsley


Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and stir with a fork until all combined. Pour the mixture in a clean jar with a lid and shake well. Either pour Dry rub in a shaker, an old empty clean spice container, or just store it in the jar you shook it in. 

When you are ready to use it, simply rub your meat down with your choice of oil. (I usually use Olive or Grape since it has a higher heat tolerance.) Then sprinkle or rub your dry rub seasoning over your meat. Cover with clear cling wrap and let sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before putting in your smoker, on your grill, or in your oven.


Do not use "already used" coffee grounds from your coffee maker, because all of the flavor has already been taken from it and it will not work. The coffee adds a very warm earthy taste and is not bitter at all. You will be surprised if you have never used this method before. Mixed with all the other seasoning it is just "WOW"

Now just sit back and BBQ and wait for all the compliments you are going to get!
